1. In the past two years, what
would you consider to have been the top three challenges for the Salt Lake
County Republican Party?
- Organization -- Grassroots motivation
and organization.
- Finances -- Started 2 years ago pretty
tight. Now in good shape.
- Election.
2. In your opinion, what will be the
top three concerns facing the party in the next two years?
- Election -- Utilizing and energizing
grassroots organization and structure.
- Fund Raising -- Making sure we have real
funding and support for candidates.
- Candidates -- Getting good, viable
candidates, and making them feel the full weight of the party is behind
them. (i.e. Randy Horiuchi)
3. Do you believe that you
sufficiently understand the make-up and operation of the party’s
conventions, Central Committee and Executive Committee to do the job you are
seeking? Why?
Yes, I'm over the financial side,
including the Lincoln Day Dinner. Regarding this, I'm also the
current Finance Committee Chair. I feel I understand the financial
workings of the party.
4. Do you believe that you
sufficiently understand the procedural and governing documents of the party?
Why?
Yes, the Constitution governs, with
Bylaws on the second position. After that, Standing Rules take
precedence, with Robert's Rules in the fourth tier of governing
literature.
5. What special skills or experience
do you possess that qualifies you for the office that you seek?
I'm a CPA. I also have my own
accounting practice, which gives me control over my time. I also
understand how to run large fundraising events.
