1. In the past two years, what
would you consider to have been the top three challenges for the Salt Lake
County Republican Party?
- Returning Salt Lake County to majority
Republican representation at all levels of government.
- Making the County Party viable and
relevant to the election process through candidate support, both
monetarily and non-monetarily.
- Increasing grassroots energy and support
through activation efforts, training, increased communication, and
additional grassroots authority and responsibility.
2. In your opinion, what will be the
top three concerns facing the party in the next two years?
- Winning more seats for Republicans in
Salt Lake County, specifically winning back the 2nd Congressional Seat!
- Building on our foundation, creating
grassroots leadership on a broader scale that can take the Republican
message directly to each neighborhood, and building bridges to Republican
elected officials and candidates.
- Re-emphasizing the Republican message to
the public at large, activating voters, and bringing them into political
activity.
3. Do you believe that you
sufficiently understand the make-up and operation of the party’s
conventions, Central Committee and Executive Committee to do the job you are
seeking? Why?
Yes. As the current Party Chair,
former Executive Committee member (Senate Chair), and Precinct Chair, I
believe I have the unique experience of seeing all sides of the County
Party and what makes it tick.
4. Do you believe that you
sufficiently understand the procedural and governing documents of the party?
Why?
Yes. The Party Chair's
responsibility is to support and uphold the governing documents of the
Party. I have diligently researched the Constitution and Bylaws of
the Party as well as other rules and policies. I am currently a
member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, which has helped
quite a bit on the Parliamentary procedures that the Party uses.
5. What special skills or experience
do you possess that qualifies you for the office that you seek?
Current Party Chair, successful Senate
and Precinct Chair in activating grassroots and electing Republicans to
office. Work experience, I manage multiple government accounting
areas in 4 states. This requires an excellent mix of skills in
juggling competing state issues and management goals, while at the same
time maintaining strict compliance to complex and difficult government
statutes.
